Warbird Colour Services was set up in 2002 by Steve Atkin with the aim of providing a project management and support service for historic military aircraft owners wishing to re-finish their aircraft to the highest standards of authenticity. Initially concentrating on the Spitfire and its naval derivative, the Seafire, the company has expanded to cover American types such as the P-51 Mustang, P-40 Kittyhawk and most recently, Russian and Luftwaffe aircraft. Although UK based, we have also carried out projects in the USA, Canada and Germany.

The concept behind WCS is to provide a complete project management service to the warbird aircraft owner that leaves him or her free to choose to have their aicraft re-painted on their own premises or in a specialised facilty. All aspects of the paint scheme from research, historic colour sourcing, scheme graphics, markings and artwork to final application are undertaken by WCS. Working closely in association with key specialists such as noted historians, artists and aerospace paint suppliers allows us to provide a unique fully integrated and comprehensive service.
